The first thing a parent notices wrong with their child, is physical delay. This was our first warning bell as well. To date, we have seen Soybean progress in multiple areas, yet physical abilities are freaking dragging pretty heavily behind. Thus mobility program is another thing we are working on at home.
Currently Soybean is on the level of a newborn. He does movements of arms and legs but without bodily movement. Thus step #1 is tummy time. Based on @iahpbraindevelopment program's recommendation, not only does he need to be on tummy time every waking moment, but also needs to sleep at night on tummy... its a point of big arguments. But we are not even there yet. So can make nighttime arrangement decisions later. .
Second part to this program is an inclined floor. Its a device that helps beat gravity, and allows my heavy baby to army crawl down without a full body coordination. This teaches him that moving arms and legs creates movement. And that this movement can propel him forward. Once he is able to coordinate his legs and arms, and not solely rely on sliding down he can hopefully start crawling. Or so is the theory behind. .
Our progress. The first time I put Soybean down it was literally for 30 sec cz he became hysterical. It took us a few days until he could start tolerating some time on the inclined floor and "crawl" down a foot of length. Once this became too easy we went up to half the length, and this took us about 15 min to get down. Today, in a good mood Soybean can go down in about 3 min. Our target, is 2! We also now are able to do 5 attempts a day. Another target on the inclined floor is 10 sessions a day.
