Vision Program Level I

Getting back from The Institutes for the Achievement of the Human Potential, Philadelphia first thing we started working on was vision. Soybean has CVI, in short its a condition that affects his vision and interpretation of the world around. Thus, he lacks the essential component to progressing and moving forward - motivation. Children are curious by nature and this curiosity drives them to learn and progress so quickly through various milestones. But when there is not much to see, aka not much to do, their development slows down and staggers. Its another factor playing against Soybean, besides his medical condition.

Thus, step #1 is to stimulate his vision. The whole month of December we have been working on making it easy for Soybean to see through creating a black and white environment, full of contrast, and encouraging with light up toys. Today, I think Soybean is ready for a "level up". Which is adding simple detail. This allows for the baby to practice his vision focus, and see details within configuration. We will achieve this by adding color shapes to the black and white environment we have created. By showing bits of Intelligence cards with color and continuing our reading program. As well, we will continue trying to introduce toys that don't light up.... 😒 currently, the situation is shit. Soybean has zero interest in them. But ofcourse the idea is that with enough introduction, and visual stimulation we will get somewhere. 🚀
